Our Student ministry at TCC took 65 Middle School, High School, and
Leaders to Wilmington, NC from July 18th-24th for a Mission’s Trip.
God did so many BIG things in our lives as well as, the lives of the
community we ministered to. Here are some of the stories from that
week. You can also go to:

videos from the week. Thank you to all the students and leader who
took part of the trip to make it a huge success. Also, thank you to
all of you who gave toward the mission’s experience and prayed for us
as we were used by God.

Stories:
Our Wilmington Mission Serve trip was an amazing experience for our
youth and adult leaders. I am very grateful to the many who supported
us through their prayers and financial support and the many hours our
mission team invested in preparing and serving before and during the
week.
I was so very proud of our youth and leaders. Wish you all could have
seen how hard they worked side by side, often singing and smiling in
the heat as they gave back to the Wilmington community. It was an
exhausting week; yet, filled with much reward and excitement for all
as we could see the incredible transformations both physically on the
homes and centers and individual lives touched spiritually and more.
I anticipated my part on the mission trip to be the nurse for 100+
campers, help out with VBS, and be an adult leader. Being flexible and
available to meet the greater needs of our team was top priority for
me. Most of my time was invested in caring for several sick and needy
campers while taking a few to Urgent Care. I thank God for answering
my prayers to give me wisdom and the necessary skills to tend to their
needs and be able to pray with them for healing too. I was glad there
were plenty of other eager workers to fill my spot and present a great
VBS program for the Hispanic community.
We were also blessed with new and renewed friendships and experienced
a tremendous sense of community among our TCC team and the Atlanta
church! Sharing in the daily time of worship with our youth and
leaders was so uplifting and just being part of this united team of
believers! I am sure God also pleased with the beautiful praises and
service sent up to Him!
Please continue to pray for our teens and the lives that were touched
in Wilmington. I hope our enthusiasm and testimonies spurs some of you
to desire to be a part of a life changing mission trip reaching out to
others in need. Whether through your prayers, financial support, or
on-site service, I truly believe you’ll be greatly blessed by
investing in others lives too!
Thank you!

VBS
The last day of VBS, Carlos, 13, asked when we would come back. You
know when the oldest kid asks that then you know the kids enjoyed
their week with us. We got to share the gospel message everyday with
the children. Most of the children have a Catholic background so
there were many questions the last day. The First Hispanic Baptist
church does not have the money or the people to do a VBS for the
children in the Hispanic community. Pastor Mendoza and his wife Maria
were so thankful we could come in and do the whole VBS for them. The
Mendozas invited families from the trailer park that they live in -
most families in the trailer park are Catholic and will not talk to
them but they will send their children to VBS. We averaged 45-48
children each day which only 12-15 attend the Baptist church on a
regular basis. We will pray for the seeds God allowed us to plant in
these children.

On the VBS side of the mission trip, it was certainly a blessing to work
with such sweet children but the best part of the week were the times we had
some one-on-one time with them. Gwen had a few conversations about God
while we had park time with some kids and Toni and I both had a meaningful
conversation with a young man of 13. He had begun to ask some really
serious questions. I believe that those kids will remember their week with
our teens for a long time as they remember the genuine love extended to them
all week. There was not one negative incident all week.

Here’s a Thank You from the head of “Communities in Schools” at the
Harrelson Center. WIRE that she refers to is what they call their
offices, but I don’t know what that stands for… Also, here is the
link for that Harrelson Center if you want to include it…

Hi! The WIRE is beautiful. Please tell everyone that we greatly
appreciate all their hard work. I think it’s wonderful what you guys
do. We are all so busy, never making time to do the “other things”
that need to be done around here. The help you’ve given us is
priceless. The carpets are AWESOME!

Here one from a house we worked on.
“I should be telling you guess that a million times over. It’s very
hard to find a group of people or churches that would help out a
community.my mother and I are so thankful for you’ve done.It make me
want to go out and do the same.I might try to go out to join that
church you guys took us to.Well I want to thank you and GOD Bless. And
dont forget to email my sister picture of the house.”

We helped build a ramp for Learning Perspectives which works with
children with mental handicaps. If we would not have been in place to
build this ramp by last friday, the city was going to have to shut
down this ministry. What a cool thing to be a part of keeping a
ministry going.
” Thank the young members of Triangle Community Church in Apex outside
of Raleigh for all of their hard work. Please mention and thank Mike
Craig for his leadership in getting this project done. We are all very
grateful and thankful for their tremendous effort!”
